I totally relate to being inspired by cookbooks and the stories they tell. What a lovely interview!

Dianne’s book is a textbook on the Masters in Food Studies programme I am taking, and as I plan to centre my thesis on the modern phenomenon of cookbook collecting this was doubly interesting!

Sounds like a great idea for a thesis. Where are you taking this Masters i Food Studies program, Nuala? I love knowing that an instructor has chosen it for a textbook.

It’s the Masters in Gastronomy and Food Studies in Technological University Dublin. Anke Klitzing, one of the tutors, uses your text in the creative writing module.

My thesis will investigate the motivation of people who collect 100s of cookbooks. I’m in that category myself and curious to see if there is some commonality to find.
